II. One Step Sparring

A. General Rules

  1. When you line up to do one-steps, face your partner and introduce yourself. Bow to your partner and assume Ready Stance.
  2. Line one attacks first. From the Ready Stance, step back with right foot into Fighting Stance. Ki-Hap as you step back.
  3. Defender Ki-Haps to tell attacker to come forward in Right Front Stance with Right Thrust Punch to the midsection. Defender executes the defense technique, with a Ki-Hap on the technique.
  4. Defender and attacker switch positions, alternating through the one-steps.
  5. At the conclusion, face your partner, come to attention, and bow to your partner.

B. One-Step Sparring

  1. From Ready Stance, Step to the left with your left foot. Double Knife Hand Block at your partner’s right shoulder and wrist. Grab shoulder and wrist; pull your partner around as you step back with your right foot, pivoting on your left foot. Partner should be pulled off balance. Reverse direction and execute a Right Forearm Smash to your partner’s throat. Sweep your partner by bringing your right leg behind your partner’s leg, throwing your partner as you sweep.
  2. From Ready Stance, step to the left with your left foot. Go down on your left knee supporting yourself with your hands. Execute a Right Round Kick to your partner’s solar plexus. Bring your right leg to the left of your partner’s leg. Keeping your leg straight, sweep your leg to the right against your partner’s ankle, taking your partner down.
  3. From Ready Stance, step in with your right foot. Grab your partner’s right arm with your left hand and place your right arm around your partner’s waist and throw your partner over your hip.
  4. From Ready Stance, step back with your right foot. Grab your partner’s right hand with your left hand and then your right hand. Control your partner’s hand by pulling right, then lock your partner’s wrist and twist to the left. Execute a Right Front Snap Kick to partner’s solar plexus followed by a Rght Elbow Strike to the face (temple).
  5. From Ready Stance, step to the right with your right foot and execute a Left Side Kick, followed by a Right Jump Back Kick, and a Left Snap Punch
  6. From Ready Stance, with your left foot take a deep step in the back of your right foot. Execute a Right Flex Kick followed by a Right Spin Tornado Kick.

 

  1. All White Belt (9th Kub) One-Steps.
  2. All Yellow Belt (8th Kub) One-Steps.
  3. All Orange Belt (7th Kub) One-Steps.
  4. All Green Belt (6th Kub) One-Steps.
  5. All Blue Belt (5th Kub) One-Steps.
  6. All Purple Belt (4th Kub) One-Steps.
